It's tough for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The top summits have already been conquered.

This is the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a team that has won it all.

That it took up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their batters to maintain a record if not provided the chance.

Finally, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy getting a platform to deliver her latest masterpiece.

Originally famous as the young family member of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after Australia couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups from the prior year and has seen it all through 15 successful years since.

A T20 World Cup win happened three months after her first appearance and seven international trophies have come from 10 efforts across formats.

The tough gloveman was also there in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India temporarily stopped the winning streak.

That loss "drove us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy commented earlier.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the championship match and was declared player of the series. She guaranteed her country would not fail again.

Whether this latest epic knock surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Some will argue the argument supporting the pressure of a final. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this century was considerably tougher to see coming.

"The possibility to take the field and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 balls as she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

Once she was removed her side needed 66 more at a run-a-ball - a manageable total now needing a comfortable finish.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I'm happy we have the assurance to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, if we do, we believe we can achieve it."

That comment will be the final thing rival teams at this championship want to hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will triumph from any situation has become more firm - this triumph coming after victory over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a last-four spot may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they were eliminated from the previous year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of damaged tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.

So great is her will, she later said she regretted not playing with the discomfort.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have postponed consideration of ending her career, this championship is anticipated as her final tournament as skipper in one-day cricket and she is yet to win an international tournament as skipper.

Triumph in India would take her to the summit of her last major obstacle.
